Big Sister Program 13 - 20 yrs of age

Our little sisters (mentee's) enter the program as caterpillars preparing for transition while in middle school. Their next level is their actual transition and growth process, facing challenges & obstacles while in High School they enter into their cocoon to transition. Eventually, they will blossom into a beautiful butterfly once they graduate from High School on to the next level in life, we will be there every step of the way, supporting their transition, and proudly guiding them, step by step as they begin to soar with confidence...

Mentoring

Providing experienced and trusted advisers one on one and in group setting, guidance, life prep, help with decision making, building trusted relationships, journal back and fourth, quarterly parent conference on progress of mentee, prepare for a successful transition from one grade level to the next, and help with accomplishing goals.

Learning Responsibilities

Fostering to helping girls learn how to accept responsibilities, learning the importance of education, helping around the house, keeping up with personal belongings/information, financial education, investing, utilizing community resources, sex education, etiquette, health, fitness, personal hygiene's, job readiness, and learning the importance of help make a difference in our communities.

Empowerment

Help girls learn how to have the authority or power to accomplish things in life and be consistent with positive decision making, showing girls the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights, emotional recovery, building self confidents, saying "NO" to low self esteem, learning about self character, self love, the importance of a sister hood, having a positive attitude, and the importance of "finding yourself".

At Risk Prevention

Fostering to at risk prevention, making sure that girls transition to adult hood successfully, interventions, girl talks on every day life events/lessons, field trips, Christianity practice, continuous communication with mentee, occupying the mind, community involvement, assigned projects with a focus on goals/future vision, finding peace, monthly group meet up's, and life lessons. Doing what it takes to help girls make positive choices in life.
